Fire Department Over the Years
Established in March of 1975. Founding members are from the back row left to right: Joe Bunker, Otis Klever, Mike Thoma, Bobbie Meyers, Jody Burns, Mike Havel,____Tage, Bud Burns. Front row left to right: John Klever, Orvil Barber, Tom Gebphart, Kelly Beerman, and Tony Touchinski. In 2004 township residents approved a 1-mil levy over 5 years to generate around $240,000 to help fund a much needed new Fire Station. 40,000 of that went to improving the Halfway Fire Station which houses two fire trucks. The new Fire Station is located on the north side of the Township Building.
